Questions

Impact door questions

Will a new door fit my existing opening?

Yes. We retrofit into your existing opening. A single opening gets a single impact door, and a double opening gets a double or French door. Your design consultant measures and shows you every design that fits.

Do you install French doors and sliding glass doors?

Yes. We install impact French doors and impact sliding glass doors for patios and pool areas. See our patio doors page for the options.

Do impact doors need a permit in South Florida?

Yes. Replacing an exterior door needs a building permit here. We pull the permit, schedule the inspections and handle the paperwork, so you don't have to.

What makes a door impact rated?

The glass is laminated, so it holds together when something hits it, and the frame and hardware are built and tested together to stay closed in hurricane-force wind.

What is the High-Velocity Hurricane Zone?

Miami-Dade and Broward counties are in Florida's High-Velocity Hurricane Zone (HVHZ), which has the strictest rules for product approvals and installation. Palm Beach County is outside the HVHZ and follows the Florida Building Code's wind rules. We install to the code where you live.

Do you offer financing?

Yes. Promotional Rates Ends 11-01-2026 · 0% interest. Ask your design consultant at your free estimate, or see our financing page.

Impact Doors for South Florida Homes

Guardian Impact Windows & Roofing installs hurricane-impact doors across Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach counties. Laminated impact glass and a reinforced frame are made to handle high winds and flying debris, so your entrance looks inviting and is ready for hurricane season.

Impact glass is also far harder to break through than standard glass, which helps keep intruders out. The thick laminated glass cuts outside noise and blocks most of the UV rays that fade floors and furniture.

Choose from 86 bronze double-door designs, single entry doors, patio and sliding doors and replacement doors. Every job includes a free in-home estimate, the building permit, installation by our own team and the final city inspection.
