Questions

Roofing questions

Should I repair or replace my roof?

If the damage is in one area and the rest of the roof is in good shape, a repair can make sense. If the roof is near the end of its life or leaks in several places, a replacement is usually the better use of your money. We inspect it and tell you which one you need.

Can you help with my insurance claim?

We can work with your insurance company on storm damage claims. A new roof plus a wind mitigation inspection can also help you qualify for windstorm discounts. Ask your insurance company what they offer.

Do I need a permit to replace my roof in South Florida?

Yes. A roof replacement needs a building permit and inspections. We pull the permit, schedule the inspections and close it out for you.

Which roof type is best for South Florida?

It depends on your budget, your HOA and the look you want. Shingle usually costs the least. Standing seam metal gives a clean, modern look. Concrete and clay tile give the classic Florida look but are heavier (about 800 to 950 lbs per square installed, per the manufacturer), so we check your roof structure first.

How long does a roof replacement take?

It depends on the size of your roof, the material and the permit office. Once your permit is approved, your account manager gives you the schedule and keeps you posted the whole way.

Do you offer financing?

Yes. Promotional Rates Ends 11-01-2026 · 0% interest. Ask your design consultant at your free estimate, or see our financing page.

Roofing for South Florida Homes

Guardian Impact Windows & Roofing installs and replaces roofs across Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach counties. Sun, torrential rain and hurricane winds hit your roof first, so the roof system and the install both matter.

We install CertainTeed Landmark architectural shingles, Drexel Metals standing seam metal, and Westlake Royal concrete and clay tile. A well-built roof helps keep the heat out and your bills down, and the right roof and color raise your home's look and value.

Every roof includes a free in-home estimate, the roofing permit, installation by our own crew and the final city inspection. We are a Certified Roofing Contractor, CCC1334906. Pair your new roof with impact windows and impact doors to protect every opening.
